N.i.c.k.s ScholarshipS

In addition to sending children fighting cancer to summer camp, the Chiera Family Foundation also offers College Scholarships to deserving young adults who have beaten cancer. N.I.C.K.’s Scholarships provide families and young adults the financial assistance they need after going through the expensive ordeal of treatments and hospital stays. Scholarships can be awarded in $2,500 increments each year or in four year, $10,000 grants. Many companies and families have donated scholarships in honor of an employee or family member they have lost to cancer. All scholarship recipients can re-apply each year, assuming they maintain a certain grade point average. Students and families must submit an application which is available online or by clicking on the link below. We also continue to support these amazing cancer survivors with graduate and medical school scholarships as they continue their education.

Through our N.I.C.K.’s Scholarship program, some of the children we first sent to summer camp at age 8 or 9, received our scholarships for both undergrad, graduate and medical school. These young adults and are now doctors, oncologists and social workers helping kids with the same cancer they once had. Talk about coming full circle! Awarding these scholarships in late summer and seeing parents and students get emotional and tear up is one of the most emotional and rewarding experiences to witness.

The Chiera family helps children achieve their ultimate dreams. For me personally, the foundation provided a scholarship to attend the University of Miami. More importantly, against all odds, I GRADUATED from the University of Miami. Thank you Chiera Family Foundation for helping ME achieve my ultimate dream!
